Chemical industry
The chemical industry is one of the largest industries in Spain, representing 10% of the Gross Industrial Product, and generating more than 500,000 jobs (direct and indirect). It is Spain’s second largest exporter after the automotive industry. The industry is the country’s leading investor in environmental protection, accounting for 22% of national investment, and research and development, with a 21% share.

National association
The Spanish chemical industry federation Feique represents about 1,300 chemical companies.  and assumes to represent 3.600 . Membership of the federation is drawn from all sub-sectors of the Spanish chemical industry.
Its goals are to:
-Represent the sector in dealings with national and international, public and private institutions and organizations, authorities and governments.
-Improve the competitiveness and expansion of the Spanish chemical industry; promote exports and access of chemical companies to global markets 
-Cooperate with legislators to establish an efficient and fair regulatory framework and help companies to comply
-Promote communication and dialogue with society
-Manage the Responsible Care program in Spain. 
-Promote employment, social dialogue and negotiate the Spanish chemical industry collective agreement with trade unions.
-Promote innovation with chemicals and communicate the global contribution of the industry
